Description

ENEA is one of the partners in the EMWater project, funded by the EU under the 2000-2006 MED Programme, which provides for the implementation of 4 pilot actions in rural or peri-urban areas of Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey to test innovative solutions for wastewater treatment and reuse. The project also contributed to strengthening regional cooperation through creation of experts’ networks, transfer of know-how, capacity building through local and regional training programmes, and definition of guidelines.

ENEA Activities:

  • development of state-of-the-art studies on wastewater management in Jordan and Palestine
  • design and setting-up of pilot plants (Jordan and Palestine) for urban wastewater treatment and reuse in agriculture
  • definition of guidelines and development of training modules on wastewater management
  • training course at the ENEA Bologna research centre to 15 experts on urban wastewater purification in the Mediterranean area
